Don’t Let Acne Plague You For Longer Than It Has To!
Acne & Wrinkles . BeautyIf you have suffered with acne, or you have a child that does, then you’ll know all about the telltale scars that last a lot longer than the spots themselves. You might think that once the acne clears that’s the end of your problems, but the reality is that the scars left behind can leave a permanent memory of the horrible skin affliction that is acne. If you have been blighted by acne then you may be interested in these home remedies which may help at least lighten the scars, if not remove them altogether:
Lemons
Lemons have long been known for their cleansing and healing properties. It has been known to lighten scars and blemishes, and give your face a good cleanse along the way. Squeeze a lemon onto a cotton-pad or ball and apply it to your face carefully, avoiding the eyes. Leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing gently with warm water. Don’t go out in the sunlight until it is completely removed otherwise you will risk burning. The best time to do it is just before you go to bed so that your skin is nice and clean for when you are sleeping.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is also known for its healing properties. Take a small amount in the palm of your hand and massage it directly onto your face, after you have exfoliated (to remove dead skin cells first). Olive oil moisturises your skin and it heads deep into your pores, meaning your skin is softer and suppler afterwards. Moisturised skin looks healthy and vibrant and your scars will start to fade.
Baking Soda
What can’t you fix with baking soda?! It’s a great exfoliator – mix it up with a couple of tablespoons of clean, filtered water and use the potion to scrub your face gently in a circular motion. Leave it one for a minute or two before rinsing it off with warm water. It’s great for scrubbing away impurities and leaving your face feeling fresh and buzzing! It’s always worth a Google to see what else baking soda fixes – you’ll be amazed!
Fruits
You are what you eat – so it’s not all just about what you put on to your skin. You need to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and drink lots of water. This will help purify your system and it will certainly make an impact on your scar removal efforts. You can use fruit directly on your face too – a pineapple puree makes a great potion to put on your face, and avocado mixed with oatmeal is a great face mask idea – try everything!
All of these things will help you to shift the acne scars you are so desperate to get rid of. If you are still not happy with the results it’s time to consult with your doctor who will tell you the best course of action to take next, but medical intervention should only happen after you have tried everything you can yourself. Good luck – we hope you find a way to be free of scars forever!
