Seven Must-Have Apparel Items For Expecting MothersBaby & Pregnancy . Pregnancy
#1 – Wrap Dress
This versatile dress is a great wardrobe staple. It can be dressed up with jewelry and elegant shoes, or dressed down with flip-flops or sandals. It is appropriate for work and a night out. Best of all, it accentuates the smallest part of your pregnant body and breaks up your breasts and baby bump so you look pregnant and not just round. This dress will see you from beginning to end of pregnancy and beyond because it is breast feeding friendly and can be tied tight or lose to accommodate your body.
#2 – Maternity Jeans
Many women hate the idea of maternity jeans. They feel like they are giving up their style and officially starting their life of “mom jeans,” but maternity jeans can be just as stylish as your pre-pregnancy jeans. You can get the maternity band in different styles, for full or minimal coverage of your growing bump. Maternity jeans have the same comfort band as stretch pants, but look much more put together.
#3 – Maternity Support Leggings
When most women hear maternity support leggings, they do not get a pretty image in their mind. While it’s true, there are some very unstylish support leggings out there, it is possible to find some that aren’t much different than regular leggings. The benefits of wearing maternity support leggings are numerous and make wearing them worthwhile. Maternity support leggings help reduce lower back pain often cause by pregnancy. The leggings help with pelvic instability and pelvic girdle pain. They are most commonly used for varicose veins, either prevention or management, and help reduce swelling if you are on your feet a lot or do not get to walk around much.
#4 – Different Types of Bras
Pregnancy can make your breasts sensitive. It is important to find the right amount of support and coverage to get you through the day, just as you had before you were pregnant. It’s also important to have comfort, and it’s most important at night. Sleep bras will give you support and comfort without the pinch that underwire can give.
# 5 – Comfy Sleepwear
Sleep is difficult around the middle of pregnancy. If you aren’t getting up to use the bathroom every half an hour, you can’t get comfortable because of your growing bump, and laying on your back is not allowed! Make yourself more comfortable with sleepwear that doesn’t pinch your belly or irritate you in other ways. A simple nightgown is a good choice because it eliminates the waist band.
#6 – Bellaband
The Bellaband is useful from the start of pregnancy. It can be used with your pre-pregnancy jeans to hide the fact that they aren’t buttoning anymore. This will let you wear your jeans longer. They can also be used with maternity jeans that you haven’t quite grown into yet. After you have the baby, they can be worn while you are waiting to get back to your pre-pregnancy size.
#7 – Slip-On Shoes
Slip on shoes can be stylish and comfortable. They are easy to put on, with no laces or buckles, which will come in handy when you can’t reach your feet anymore. Flats or wedges for dressy occasions are great options, while flip flops are great casual and around the house wear. If weather permits, flip-flops are also an excellent choice later in your pregnancy when your feet are prone to swelling.
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, but it’s not always easy to feel beautiful or even comfortable while your body is changing so much. These seven items will make the nine months a little easier and a little more comfortable.
