Skincare Essentials That You Simply Can’t Do Without In The Summer!
Beauty . Skin CareThe summertime is wonderful – we all love it! But with the heat and the sun comes a whole bunch of skin problems that we could all do without. During the summer you want to be able to walk around confidently in your bikini, and that means taking extra-special care of the skin all over your body. The good news is that it’s pretty easy to do; you just need to get kitted out with some summer essentials. In this article we will tell you what they are and give you some great tips in the process:
Exfoliator
Dead skin makes your skin look dull and tired, so whip it off with an exfoliating body scrub. Using your hand or an exfoliating mitt, work the scrub all over your body in circles. Spray your body down with some warm water, pat the skin dry and see how much smoother your skin feels! Use a gentler exfoliator for your face and rub it on in circles with an exfoliating towel. Some people make their own body scrub using oatmeal or sugar, while others buy their products from the shops – either is fine.
Sun Care Kit
Don’t go anywhere without your skin sun care kit. This should include a high SPF factor sun cream, as well as a lower one. You’ll also need sunnies that have a UV filter on them, and a stick of high SPF block for your nose and lips. Making sure that you apply sun cream regularly is essential, otherwise your skin will burn and peel, and you’ll age faster too. Nobody wants that! It’s a good idea to always carry a sarong with you too so you can drape it over your shoulders for an extra layer of protection. Only exfoliate around once a week, otherwise you will end up irritating your skin.
A Pumice Stone for Your Feet
Your feet have been hidden away all winter so you probably haven’t even noticed how dry they have gotten! Dunk your feet in a nice warm foot bath and give them a good long soak. When they are feeling nice and soft, work the pumice stone around them, taking away any areas of hard or dry skin. Finish off with a really rich moisturizer, and then why not treat yourself to a professional pedicure?!
A Selection of Great Moisturizers
Moisturizers come in many forms, but you need to make sure you have plenty to hand to keep your skin looking soft and young. Choose a day cream with an SPF of 15 or above built in, a night cream which is rich and luxurious, and an all-over body moisturizer which will saturate the skin with a wonderful layer of moisture. If you are not sure which products are right for you, it may be worth having a consultation with a dermatologist. They will be able to advise you on the right kinds of products for your skin type.
In order to bounce into summer with confidence, you need to know that you are fully prepared for everything the sun has to throw at you. With your summer essentials kit, you can bask in the sun and take all of its advantages without suffering any of its disadvantages!
