Everyone wants a bright white smile that they can show off. After all, a great smile can make you look younger and also make you more attractive, whether you’re a man or a woman. But whitening treatments can be expensive, so if you don’t have the money to get the professional whitening treatments that are guaranteed to work quickly and effectively every single time, you need to come up with alternatives that can whiten your teeth in the meantime.

Continue reading for some of the most effective ways to whiten your teeth in a short amount of time right in the comfort of your own home. Just remember that, if you don’t get the results that you desire with home treatments, your dentist has the solution that will work best for your unique smile. In the meantime, though, brush and floss daily and incorporate some or all of the following tricks.

Baking Soda and Lemon

Baking soda is often found in toothpastes because it has the ability to not only deep clean your teeth but also whiten them at the same time. Make a paste of baking soda and lemon to create an at-home tooth whitening treatment that you can use on a consistent basis, once per week only, in order to achieve great results.

Simply mix a small amount of baking soda with some lemon juice until you have reached the consistency of a paste that you can then apply to your teeth using your toothbrush. Leave the solution on your teeth for no longer than one minute before using your toothbrush to remove it. The baking soda will attack and remove stains and the lemon juice will essentially bleach your teeth so they appear whiter.

If you find that your teeth are getting too sensitive as a result of the lemon juice, you can leave it out and use water or salt instead.

Strawberries

Strawberries aren’t just great for your body, they’re also powerful teeth whiteners too. They contain an enzyme called malic acid, which naturally whitens teeth by removing stains. The vitamin C in these berries is also great at removing plaque. Just mash up some strawberries into a pulp that you can then brush or rub onto your teeth. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse it all off for great results.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is really good for the health of your entire mouth. Rinse and gargle with a solution that contains 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% water every day. The solution will prevent the growth of bacteria and whiten teeth, as long as you leave the bubbles on your teeth for a minute after you spit out the solution after swishing it around your mouth.

Whitening your teeth at home is a lot easier than you think. If you’re looking for a natural way to achieve a brighter smile that isn’t as abrasive as some over-the-counter whitening treatments, you can use hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, strawberries, and lemon to get the results you’ve always wanted.

I think the cost associated of professional teeth whitening can be quite an obstacle for some people. At Rapid White Smiles we always recommend regular visits to a dental hygienist along with a teeth whitening system to begin the transformation process. It’s an avenue which is dramatically cheaper, plus there are numerous companies that offer these systems which offer free trials.
